Random stuff!!! :)

Happy New Year!!

I wish you and your family a safe, healthy, and prosperous new year! :)

Mrs. Delighted won my Mystery Giveaway, and I just uploaded her mousepad graphic to winkflash.  She has lots of puppy dogs in her classroom with pink and brown accents.

I changed the title of this post several times, before giving up and just calling it random--'cause it is!!

I'm very excited to be a contributing author at The Best Endings!  I've been lurking around, reading posts and comments, bought a few books based on suggestions, and have decided to read The Hunger Games!  I'm leery, because I'm a realistic fiction kinda girl!  I'll be over there soon to introduce myself.  If you haven't been over there--GO NOW!!!! :)
Okay....I just clicked over to The Best Endings to grab the button, and I saw a post with a blog I've never seen before....Second Grade Swamp Stories by Debbie..AKA..The Cajun Teacher!  How cute!  I'm going to have to go check her out--you should too!

I also discovered another fellow Louisianian last night...Mrs. Mc at Buzz, Buzz, Buzz!  Go check her out!

Okay...Next--Told you this was random!

I uploaded 2 scoot games to TPT.  I can't wait to play them with my kiddos.  The optimum song to "scoot" to is:

I plan on playing the chorus when we scoot!  I'm even thinking of some cute little moves--Get down, turn around, go to town......LOL!

Anyway...I uploaded a blank set (you create your own game), and a noun/verb game.  I'm working on other math skills--addition/subtraction/time/money/fractions etc.

One last thing........I reached 100 followers a few days ago!  Thanks guys :)

I am loving KPM Doodles graphics!!!!  Hop over to TPT to get your copy of the I {Heart} Even and Odd color sheet!  While you are there, I'm having a 20% off sale!
I'll be adding items to my shop today.  Some things I'm working on are:  Boot Scootin' Boogie scoot games, Pigs Will Be Pigs money activities to accompany the book, Science journal pages--matter, and Groundhog graphing activities.  It's really sad that i have all of these things in the works, yet nothing complete!!! :(

What a week!!!!!!!

Well last week was......interesting!  We had our Polar Express day (exhausting but fun), our school-wide Christmas Program (we sang Rock and Roll Snowman and Let There Be Peace on Earth--also exhausting), and our Christmas Party (yep, exhausting!)!!!!!  To top all of that off, I was searching craigslist for a piano for my daughter!  I found one about an hour from my house, and went to see it Tuesday, went to a wake on Wednesday, took her to voice lessons on Thursday, took off work Friday to go pay for piano and wait for delivery and decorate my tree!!!  WHEW!!!!!!!!  We gave her the piano last night for her birthday--which is tomorrow!  17 years old!!!  Oh..My..Goodness!  Where has the time gone?
Happy Birthday--Moe!!! :)
Here are some pictures from our Polar Express Day!

I have a bazillion more pictures, but I'm too lazy to block out faces to post them!!!  Some of the other crafts we did were: handprint reindeer (pinterest), reindeer food, and candy cane mouse (pinterest).  I'm so glad the week before Christmas break only comes once a year!

Whew!!!!!!!! One week to go.............

I---AM---TIRED!!!!!!  I finally finished my second to last graduate class!!!  I can breathe now!  I don't know about everyone else, but Christmas excitement, full moon, and pajama day made my kiddos 37 kinds of crazy last week!!!!  Not to mention Math and Science Night (which was a hit!!) and practicing for our Christmas Program!

My teaching partner and I were responsible for a science activity!  Okay--she teaches ELA, and I don't start teaching science until January--but we came up with a great idea (well, actually found it on the internet) to make marshmallow shooters!!!  OH YEA!!!!  It was sooooo much fun!  The kids enjoyed it, we enjoyed it, and a few parents had a little too much fun!!!  I think I will be finding marshmallows for another month!!

Sunshine on a Cloudy Day!!

Today was my student teacher's last day!!  :(  I'm super sad, because she is awesome--no really--AWESOME!!!!!  I know a lot of teachers say that about their student teachers, but she's a rare jewel!  She just "gets it"!  I never had to ask her to do anything, she just seemed to know what I needed and she just did it!  So, Steph, if you are reading this----I don't know what I'm going to do without you next week!!

Anyway, I'm sad to see her go!  My kiddos are too.  One little sweetie kept staring her down at lunch today with a sad puppy-dog face!  It was too cute/pitiful!  They wrote the sweetest things about her in her "All About Mrs. Stephanie" book.  One student congratulated her on her 'gratuashun' next week!  LOL

Now for better news:  Two fabulous bloggers awarded me the Sunshine Award!!  How sweet!

Thanks to Sara at Smiling in Second Grade
